It's not only Japanese men but also Japanese women too 😅 I’m half Japanese and I live in Japan,trust me, most of them are very sensitive about their body hairs. When I moved to Japan with my arm full of hair …. I was so surprised to see none of the females had arm or leg hair. Like not even a tiniest hair was visible lmao and the amount of ads on laser treatment for hair removal will make you go crazy. While I don't believe that all people in Japan likes the same things, there is a percentage of Japanese people who like the Caucasian look, but many prefer other nationalities with different looks.

The 'brain-freeze' phenomenum among Japanese folks when they face a non-Japanese speaking fluent Japanese is frustrating. This would make a great PhD. dissertation study. With soooooo many gaijin on Japanese t.v. programs and now teaching in all Japanese schools through the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET), there doesn't seem to be an excuse for this kind of reaction. Oh well, I guess we must be patient...but again, it is frustrating and almost unbelievable that this still happens in 2024!

It's strange to describe Japan, Korea, and China as ethnically homogeneous countries. Especially China, which tries to represent itself as all Han people, but os actually comprised of Mongols, Manchurians, Tibetans, Uighurs, Hmong, and a hundred other ethnic groups. Even Japan has Yamato people, Ainu people, Ryukyuan people, etc. These countries are far more diverse than they think of themselves as being, even before immigrant communities factor into the conversation.
